Cozy Cone Food in Cars Land

On a recent visit to Cars Land, my family and I decided to grab some food from the Cozy Cone Motel.  

We visited Cozy Cone #3. 

Don't mind this picture above that I took during Christmas time. (Cars Land looks amazing at Christmas.) Cozy Cone #3 offers chili cone queso, chicken verde, bacon mac and cheese, and BBQ pulled pork bread cones along with various drinks. 

 Above is the chili cone queso which has beef chili, cheddar cheese, and Fritos on top. You can get this cone with vegetarian chili if desired.

 Pictured above is the chicken verde cone with chicken, salsa verde, and queso fresco.  

 I forgot to get a close up of mine, but here I am with the BBQ pulled pork cone and the oil can souvenir sipper. The cone is filled with shredded pork mixed with barbecue sauce and topped with coleslaw and a pickle slice. 

A while ago, I also tried the bacon macaroni and cheese cone.  This cone has mac and cheese mixed with bacon bits throughout and topped with more bacon. 

 We all really enjoyed our cones. They are very filling and would make a good lunch or dinner on the go. You can easily get these and head over to wait in line for Radiator Springs Racers if there is a long wait (there usually is).

Lunch at Flo's V8 Cafe in Cars Land

The holiday season is long gone, but I never posted the lunch I had at Flo's V8 Cafe in Disney's California Adventure. I hope you don't mind seeing the holiday decorations now.

Flo's is one of my favorite places in Cars Land. While standing in front of Flo's Cafe, it feels like you could have stepped into the movie. If you haven't seen it, you must watch the movie Cars before you go.

Flo's decor and comfort food are like that of a 1950's diner. I really like the restaurant, but especially one room in particular. It's designed like a classic car with two-tone bench seats and head rests, huge rear view mirror, and taillight chandelier. 
Now, on to the food. I had the pork loin with Coca-Cola barbecue sauce, peas and carrots, baked beans, and a garlic chive dinner roll for $11.49. I really enjoyed this meal. My plate was nearly clean when i was done. 

I thought the holiday cup was cute.

Here is my brother's plate. He had the roast beef, mashed potatoes, baked beans and garlic chive dinner roll, but he subbed the gravy for the barbecue sauce for $11.99. He cleaned his plate as well.

 And this room has a great view of the Radiator Springs Racers attraction. It's fun to watch the cars race by.

I really enjoy this restaurant and look forward to trying some other dishes off the menu. I really want to try the french toast on the breakfast menu. Maybe the next time I stroll down Route 66. 

Inside 1901 Lounge in Carthay Circle Theater in Disney's California Adventure

Happy New Year! 

Last month, I got the opportunity to walk around the exclusive 1901 Lounge located in the Carthay Circle Theater in Disney's California Adventure. I've got some pictures to share.

1901 is a lounge in Disney's California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort that is open exclusively to Club 33 members and their guests. Pictured above is the relatively small, inconspicuous sign marking the entrance at the Carthay Circle Theater. 

It is a nice place to relax in the park, order a drink from the bar, and/or order food from the Carthay Circle Restaurant next door. The lounge was named for the year of Walt Disney's birth and designed to feel like a 1930s hang out where the animators would have spent some time relaxing. All of the walls are decorated with photos, drawings, and memorabilia. The space is filled with cozy seating areas.

It looks like Walt was working on his signature.

One of my favorite things about the lounge are these oversized director's chairs at the bar. These are for Walt's brother Roy and his wife Edna.

The display case shown above had photos and artifacts from Pinocchio. From what I understand, they change the display every so often.

Throughout the parks, there are even details in the ceilings. 1901 is no exception with beautiful wallpaper and light fixtures. 

There are a couple of Tiffany lamps around the space. That window is one that I've walked by so many times before and wondered what was behind it.

This little corner has more photos and memorabilia. The one in the center on the left is a picture of Walt as a baby and above that are his parents.

I liked these shelves, especially the the Mickey and Minnie and the Time magazine with Walt on the cover.

There I am in 1901! I really enjoyed being able to take a tour of the lounge. It was a surprise I won't forget. 

I love these chairs. One day, I hope I will get a chance to go back and sit there to order a drink.

Mac and cheese pizza?

Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta is a quick-service restaurant in Disney's California Adventure (DCA). I decided to eat here for the first time at the beginning of this month because they were bringing back a Limited Time Magic food offering. Macaroni and Cheese Pizza! I know it sounds a little weird, but I heard good things about it the first time, so I thought I would give it a try. 

When you walk in to Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, there are 3 sections: pasta, flatbread pizza, and salad. You grab a tray, head to a section, and pick up the food items you want. At the pizza station, this is the flatbread pizza menu that you can always find. They sometimes have a seasonal menu item.

I spotted this sign of the seasonal menu item and picked up the pizza. The mac and cheese pizza was first put on the menu for the Monstrous Summer All-Nighter 24-hour event that was held at the beginning of summer. (That was fun event. There were so many unique experiences for just that one day. And, yes, I was there for 24 hours.) I didn't get this pizza at the event because there was so much going on and so many other special menu items I had to try (for example, Plaza Inn Fried Chicken and Mickey Waffles). So, when they brought it back for the week of National Cheese Pizza day, I made sure to go get it.

The mac and cheese pizza is as delicious as the sign makes it sound. I loved the crispiness of the flatbread, the bacon, and all the cheese. The mac and cheese was a lot like having extra cheese on top of a cheese pizza with bacon. It was great. And to think that I ever doubted it.

I also enjoyed the seating area in front of the restaurant. It's a large area with lots of tables and seats. This picture was just one small part of it. It was very relaxing and peaceful. I liked the lights in the trees and taking in all of the sights and sounds around me. The castmembers were keeping it very clean, as always. As I went to throw out my garbage, one castmemeber took my tray and wished me a goodnight. Great service! Now, I'm just hoping that the macaroni and cheese pizza will make its way back on the menu sometime soon.

Soup and Salad in Pacific Wharf

During a recent trip to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure (DCA), we made our way through Hollywood Land and A Bug's Land to the Pacific Wharf before going to Paradise Pier in DCA. We had to fuel up before riding Toy Story Midway Mania.

There are several quick-service restaurants in this area, but we decided on Pacific Wharf Cafe. It is one of my favorites.

I love the sourdough bread bowls.

Here is the Sonoma Chicken and Apple Salad that I ordered. It is served in a huge bread bowl made in  the Boudin bread factory in the same building. You can take a tour of the factory with free samples throughout the day. 

The bread bowl is filled with lettuce, Granny Smith apples, chicken salad, and topped with dried cranberries and chives. It is really tasty and filling. Not bad for $9.99. (Annual Passholders also receive a discount here.) I usually can only eat the salad and top of the bread bowl. I ask for a bag to take the bowl home to eat later. Don't forget the butter!

This is the Loaded Baked Potato Soup in a bread bowl that my friend had. I didn't try it, but when the weather gets colder, I'm definitely going to try this. It looks good.

After our meal, we were ready for the rest of our night.
